SsangYong celebrates first anniversary in Ireland

SsangYong Motors Ireland is celebrating its first anniversary of the Korean marque re-entering the Irish market

The Ploughing Championships kicked off on Tuesday of last week and marked a special occasion for SsangYong Motors Ireland - a year since the company first showcased its new range in Ireland.

Speaking at the Ploughing Championships recently, CEO of SsangYong Motors Ireland Joe Harris commented: “Today is a very special day for SsangYong Motors Ireland as it marks a year since our first official Irish showcasing of the new SsangYong range at last year’s Ploughing Championships. Over the past year people have gained familiarity with the brand so it’s great to revisit the location where it all started.

“Based on talking to people today, the curiosity about our new range of commercial and passenger vehicles is as strong as ever, with the added advantage of the fact that over the past year the public have now learned what we’re all about - no nonsense cars with low cost of ownership. We’ve had a fantastic time at the event so far, the weather has been great and we’re looking forward to meeting more people over the next two days.”

The event is of particular relevance to SsangYong as a key target market of the brand is companies with strong off-road needs and demanding towing requirements. Showcased at the event were the recently face-lifted Korando and Korando Commercial, recently launched Rexton W, Korando Sports, and Rodius.
