New motorway safety campaign launched

The Road Safety Authority (RSA), Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) and An Garda Síochána are reminding drivers to always drive in the left lane for normal driving on a motorway and to familiarise themselves on the rules for joining and leaving a motorway.

Preparations underway for Tyre Safety Day

The Irish Tyre Industry Association (ITIA) will again join the Road Safety Authority (RSA) and An Garda Síochána in a joint campaign to raise awareness of tyre safety in Ireland during National Road safety Week, which runs from the October 3 to October 9.

This campaign will build on the success of last year, where many members reported increased numbers of customers visiting their businesses and availing of a free tyre safety check.

Minister Naughton to double fine for ignoring School Traffic Wardens

Minister of State at the Department of Transport, Hildegarde Naughton TD, has announced that she intends to double the fine for failing to stop at a school warden sign.

This will see the fine increase from €80 to €160. The announcement comes as the Road Safety Authority (RSA) and An Garda Síochána call on drivers to watch out for children as they return to school.
