Galway United’s last home game in the SSE Airtricity League premier division in 2016 is tomorrow’s clash with Longford Town at Eamonn Deacy Park, kick off 7.45pm.
It starts a busy 24 hours for the club with Johnny Glynn’s U19 side also competing the SSE Airtricity League U19 decider versus UCD in Belfield on Saturday, kick off 5pm.

Following two successive defeats, Galway United host Finn Harps at Eamonn Deacy Park in the SSE Airtricity League premier division on Saturday evening (7pm).
Tommy Dunne’s team were involved in goal-laden games against Shamrock Rovers on Friday and Cork City on Tuesday. Having lost 4-2 at Tallaght Stadium, United were subsequently beaten 5-3 by John Caulfield’s on the banks of the Lee.

An SSE Airtricity League premier division campaign that promised so much early on in the season is edging towards a worrying conclusion for Galway United, who make the long trek to the Brandywell on Friday for a clash against Derry City (7.45pm).
Last Saturday evening United suffered a 2-1 defeat away to Sligo Rovers, who finished strongly netting the winner in injury time courtesy of Achille Campion. Tommy Dunne’s team hit the front in the second half when Gary Shanahan scored, but Rovers’ Raffaele Cretaro equalised before Campion landed the late knockout blow.

Galway WFC players were part of a successful outing for the Republic of Ireland senior women’s side against Wales in Caerphilly, South Wales, which finished with an all-Galway WFC back four. Vaptain Méabh De Búrca, along with debutantes Shauna Fox, Chloe Moloney and Sadhbh Doyle, helped Ireland to a 2-1 victory with the aid of two late goals from Arsenal’s Katie McCabe.
