Group 1
Mountbellew/Moylough continue to show their credentials to Corofin’s throne with another impressive win. Defeating Caherlistrane 1-13 to 1-2 with the two Daly’s and Barry McHugh doing the damage before a late goal from Eoin Finnerty killed off any momentum Caherlistrane could have built after Shane Bohan’s 47th minute goal. This result leaves Caherlistrane bottom of the group and the only team in group 1 with zero points after Killanin and Monivea/Abbey both secured their first wins of the season. Killanin defeated An Ceathru Ruan 3-11 to 2-11 in an ultra competitive game thanks to goals from Johnny Heaney, Patrick Sweeney, and Brian Barrett. Monivea/Abbey defeated Moycullen in the early throw in in Tuam stadium on Saturday. Trailing by one heading into injury time they scored the last three points including one from Cillian McDaid to secure their first win and leave the group wide open with four of the six teams on two points.
