Top scorer Enos expected to return for Moycullen

Moycullen hope to welcome back top scorer Luke Enos to the line-up this weekend when they travel north to face a resurgent Belfast Star in Saturday night’s Superleague basketball action.

Enos, who is among the Superleague's highest scorers with 24.3 points per game this season, has been sidelined with an ankle injury for the past month. And coupled with the injury to Stephen Tummon, Moycullen have been left without a centre in their three previous games.

Glory for Clonbur

The footballers of Clonbur wrote and their club into the history books of the GAA last weekend when they became the first Connacht team to win the All-Ireland junior title after an exciting contest with Derrytresk from Tyrone.

The fact that the Naomh Pádraig club which has been ravaged by emigration over the past two decades only won by the narrowest of margins, 1-08 to 1-07, and only went ahead for the first time in the last two minutes of the tie, made the victory all the sweeter for the players and their loyal supporters.

Connacht youth on Irish squad for Italy

Connacht’s Paul O’Donnell has been selected on the Irish u-18 clubs team that will take on Italy in Rovigo on Saturday. The 17-years-old hookerjoined Galwegians Academy when he was eight and has played with the senior Calasanctius College side. The son of well known sportsman Brian O’Donnell, Paul was selected on the Irish team following strong performances for Connacht in the Autumn Interprovincial Series. Ireland will play three international matches during the spring, the first of which takes place on Saturday in Italy.
