The Galway minor footballers face Roscommon in the Connacht championship semi-final this Saturday (5.30pm) in Tuam Stadium.
It is a must-win game for both sides. The losers are out of the 2012 championship; the winners will take on Mayo in the Connacht final and an automatic place in the All-Ireland quarter-finals.

Galway United Supporters’ Trust, the group which had hoped to submit a license for Galway United to continue playing in the League of Ireland, have now been permitted by the FAI to have a team in the u-19 league, commencing in September.

Galway athletes took three golds at the recent Junior and u-23 National Track & Field Championships in Tullamore.
Irene Gorman claimed the 3000m steeple chase easily, winning gold in 11:26, a fantastic time for this event, while Nicola O Ceallaigh won the 5000m in a personal best time, having also run a great race in the 1500m to claim the bronze medal an hour earlier.
