Irish Water working in partnership with the Galway City Council has commenced remedial works at the Long Walk which will improve water quality in the area, provide environmental benefits, and reduce the presence of wet wipes along the River Corrib.

Singer, songwriter, rhythm guitarist, and Tuam man Carton is best known as a core member of the iconic Saw Doctors, the band he co-founded with Leo Moran in 1987.

Galway Market traders in association with film maker Dawid Piotr Szlaga of Wild Islands Pictures, have produced a short film on the iconic market which has been in operation for centuries in the shadow of St. Nicholas Church in the heart of Galway city. This project was supported by Galway 2020 European City of Culture and features original music by Gabriel Gonzalez.
