‘Viable explosive device’ found in Tuam

Army explosives experts were in Tuam yesterday to deal with an explosive device which was discovered in a housing estate in the town.
Gardai were called to the Cuirt na Cora estate at 8.30am yesterday (Wednesday) to deal with the device. A number of houses in the vicinity were evacuated and an Army bomb disposal team from Athlone was also dispatched to the scene.

The purpose of the spots and road markings is to raise awareness among road users that they are entering an environment where there is a school – and to encourage awareness of children and other road users, and slower speeds.
