A potential site for a park and ride facility to service areas north of the city is currently being investigated by the Galway County Council, according to Galway West Fianna Fail TD and chairman of the Oireachtas Transport Committee Frank Fahey.
It has been confirmed to Deputy Fahey by the director of services that a site at the N63 junction is being looked at and the county council is in discussions with the landowner.

Members of the HSE’s Regional Health Forum West, which met this week at Merlin Park Hospital, said removing the service from Galway was an affront to the integrity of the local community welfare officers who previously operated it.

The figures come from the Galway City Council’s Housing Progress Report for December 2008 which was due to be discussed at Monday’s city council meeting.
