Early bird tickets for the award winning Temple House Music and Arts Festival, which takes place in the grounds of the Temple House estate, near Ballymote in Sligo from 10-12 June 2011, are now on sale priced €99 (including camping) from www.ticketmaster.ie

Temple House Festival, which was recently voted Best New European Festival, has also announced that Arveene & Misk, two young producer/DJs who over the past two years have taken the underground by storm have also been added to the line-up. As re-mixers, their credits read like a who's who in electronic dance music, including the likes of Mr. Oizo, The Prodigy, Calvin Harris, Felix the Housecat, Zombie Nation or more recently Kelis on labels such as Kitsune, Ed Banger, Bang Gang, and Turbo. Recently the duo has put out two more tracks, an original called Love & Lust, feat. the vocal of Steo Gunn, and dropping on NY label "plant" and a remix for Kelis, already getting huge support from the music community and getting airplay all over, including Annie Mac's, Kiss FM, and more all across UK.

Engine failure led to plane crash which killed Salthill pilot

An investigation by the Air Accident Investigation Unit (AAIU) has concluded that engine failure was the cause of a plane crash near Ireland West Airport Knock in May 2008 which resulted in the tragic death of a Salthill man.

The final results of the investigation, released this week, also found that the injuries inflicted on the pilot, 51-year-old Markus Casey of Dr Mannix Road, Salthill, had been exacerbated by the failure of the single diagonal seatbelt harness to restrain him adequately during impact rotation.

A Co Galway man who has been a campaigner for people with disabilities for more than 10 years and who will run as an independent candidate in the general election will launch his Dail campaign tonight (Thursday) at Munroe’s in Dominick Street at 8pm.

Eamon Walsh, a city businessman and father of two from Headford who is a founding member of Hope4Disability, a local disability action group, believes a fresh approach is needed to manage the country.
