Galway Advertiser food columnist Anne Marie Carroll has become the newest member of the Irish Food Writers’ Guild, news which will come as no surprise to her regular readers. She joins some of the most prominent names in the country including Darina Allen, Georgina Campbell, and Biddy White Lennon (currently a judge on TV3’s Great Irish Bake Off) in this prestigious group.

Two memorial Concerts by two Welsh choirs will be held in Barna Church on Tuesday next October 28 and in St Nicholas’ Collegiate Church on Wednesday October 29 in aid of Galway Hospice.
Côr Meibion Ardudwy (male choir) programme is varied and includes folk songs, songs from musicals, classical songs, songs gathered from different countries and as the choirs are Welsh, a few hymn tunes, all of which will be sung with much gusto and enthusiasm. They also include some Irish songs in their repertoire. The choir boasts as many as ten soloists in their midst so a varied programme is guaranteed.
