One of my favourite Baboró memories is:
I really really liked Nubes and The House That Jack Built. I just remember going with my Mom and my cousin Sophie and we had such a good time. I remember Jack had a twin brother who he also played. He was always in the toilet and on the phone at the same time. He played a granny in bed and all the other characters. There was a song called ‘I’m From Spain’ stuck in my head for ages afterwards. I remember the character that sang the song had two children and he loved trains and they created some images with shadows on a door. Louis Lovett, the actor who played all the parts, waited at the end of the show to give everyone in the audience a magazine to do with the show called The Trumpeteer. I still have it. It was funny.

NUI Galway has won the top award for most biodiverse campus at Ireland’s Intervarsity BioBlitz competition for the second year in a row, beating UL, UCC, and Maynooth University. Over a 24 hour period, volunteers combed the university’s campus and recorded a total of 628 species. Last year the university recorded 581 species.

The unusual vehicle can carry a lead cyclist and 15 passengers and backers are hoping that it can become a key transfer option for people using the car parks around the city.

Researchers, including four Irish researchers, while based at the Wyss Institute, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Boston Children’s Hospital have jointly designed a fundamentally different way to implant an innovative patch to close a heart tissue defect that eradicates the need to place a patient on bypass. Their work was published recently in Science Translational Medicine, and features as the cover article.
