Gardai hunting vandals who targeted city and county churches as Easter approaches

Gardai across the county are hunting the thieves who targeted three Connemara churches in the last week.

Gardaí in Ros Muc are investigating a burglary that occurred at Gortmore Church, Ros Muc, between March 18 and March 23 where damage was caused to interior of the church.

After a memorable appearance on the Tommy Tiernan Show and a sold-out premiere at the Dublin International Film Festival, ornithologist Seán Ronayne is bringing his documentary film BIRDSONG to Galway for a special screening on March 24th at the EYE Cinema.

Ronayne and director Kathleen Harris will participate in a post-screening Q&A. A year in the making, the film documents Ronayne's unique mission to record the call of every bird species in Ireland – that’s nearly 200 birds. As more than half of these species are red- or amber-listed, it's a race against time.
