RSA seeks public’s views on proposals to cut motorcyclist deaths

Motorcyclists account for 10 per cent of all fatalities on our roads, despite motorcycles accounting for less than two per cent of all licensed vehicles in the state. A motorcyclist is three times more likely to be killed in Ireland than in other European countries.

In addition to the human and emotional toll of motorcycle collisions, the economic cost is also significant. In the four year period 2004 to 2007 motorcycle collisions amounted to €656,000,805.

RSA launches Register of Approved Driving Instructors

From May 1 learner drivers paying for driving lessons should only be using an approved driving instructor who registered with the Road Safety Authority.

That’s the RSA’s message to learner drivers following the introduction of new laws which, for the first time, regulate driving instructors in Ireland. Learner drivers looking for their nearest approved driving instructor can visit www.rsa.ie or www.drivingtest.ie or www.theorytest.ie to download the list of full permit holding approved driving instructors.
