Unless you are blind, or very rich, or both you cannot help but notice that the price of fuel has got completely out of hand in recent months. We are now paying well over €1.60 and getting on for €1.70 per litre for petrol, and €1.60 is typical for diesel.

Motor insurance up three per cent

Despite some dips throughout 2011, the average price of a motor insurance policy in Ireland has increased three per cent.

According to the latest results of the new AA Premium Index, which has been monitoring average motor insurance premiums in Ireland on a quarterly basis since the beginning of 2011, insurance has increased year-on-year from €567 in January 2011 to €584 in February 2012.

Toyota Ireland, sponsors of Munster Rugby, is supporting the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation as a nominated Irish charity. It will receive the 17 limited edition Munster jerseys to help raise much needed funds.

These unique jerseys, which feature a “Toyota Auris Hybrid” logo in place of the normal “Toyota” main sponsor logo, were worn by the team at all three Heineken Cup home pool matches and are signed by every member of the Munster squad.
