Disconauts throw their first party of the autumn in Monroe’s this Saturday and it promises to be a night to remember as it’s also the after party for the Disconaut Boat Party. P and Keith will play house, disco, and party anthems. Doors are from 11pm. Boat Party revellers get in free. Places are limited for the gig.

SEPTEMBER IS Silent Disco month at the Róisín Dubh with the Dominick Street venue running four such events over the next few weeks.
The dates for the Silent Discos are Tuesday September 13 at 10pm; Saturday 17 at 11pm; Tuesday 20 at 10pm; and Tuesday 27 at 10pm.

EMMET O’MALLEY, the Galway based singer-songwriter, will launch his debut album Playtime, with a gig in Monroe's Backstage Bar on Friday September 9.
Musically and thematically, Playtime finds Emmet dealing with subjects such as the loss of innocence, conformity, the beauty of nature, suicide, and loss of ambition in small town Ireland.

IRISH/CANADIAN band Nightbox and Dublin/US band Favourite Sons play Strange Brew at the Róisín Dubh tonight from 10pm.
The five-piece Nightbox were all born in Ireland but are now based in Toronto and their music encompasses punchy bass, chiming guitar, and dynamic synth, often girded with a four-to-the-floor kick drum.

The band - led by brothers Johnny and Michael Cronin - are currently working on their second album, the follow-up to their excellent debut, Friendlier Up Here. FANS OF jazz, blues, and lounge music have plenty to look forward to this weekend when two of the finest practitioners of such genres play Monroe’s Live.
Tomorrow at 9.30pm, Mary Coughlan will take to the stage. From her 1985 debut Tired and Emotional, to the recent The House of Ill Repute, described by Q as “a serious return to form”, Mary has delivered many memorable musical moments and is rightly regarded as the queen of Irish jazz and blues. After Mary’s gig, roots-rock/psychedelic band The Deans will take to the stage at midnight.
