AHEAD OF the release of her debut album next week, Cork singer-songwriter Nicole Maguire plays upstairs in the Róisín Dubh tomorrow night.
Nicole, who has been championed by Damien Dempsey and Nancy Griffith, releases the album What You Really Mean on Friday March 28. The Daily Telegraph said her voice and songwriting abilities were “pure and elegant”, while Acoustic Magazine called the album a “promising debut from sweet voiced young folk/pop singer”.

GALWAY SIMON Community has been selected as the chosen charity for two concerts to take place during St Patrick’s Weekend.
The concerts will take place in St Nicholas’ Collegiate Church. The first takes place on Saturday at 8pm with the Laramie and Kelly Walsh Choirs from Wyoming. The choirs are made up of 90 singers from the western US and perform popular classics, spirituals, pop, and Irish and American folk songs. The choirs will also be accompanied by a bluegrass band.

GET BOOGIE! is the name of a new clubnight for Galway, and it kicks off tomorrow from 11pm in The Factory on Abbeygate Street.
Get Boogie! is a sister session to the Jungle Boogie! series and cousin of the recent Get Busy. The music policy is Old School Jungle, Footwork, bass, and breaks, pumped through a newly installed Void sound system. On the decks for the debut night will be Don Rosco (Bassbin/Wobble) alongside resident Welfare.
