AeroSurgical Ltd, an early stage medical device company that incorporates state of the art aerosol technology to form the basis of its proprietary AeroSurge Platform which efficiently delivers therapeutics into the abdominal cavity of patients during surgery to combat post-surgical complications such as pain and adhesions., has secured investment of €1.6 million. The funding round included the Western Development Commission, Enterprise Ireland, existing shareholders and new private investors.
AeroSurgical was spun out of Aerogen Ltd, the very successful Irish respiratory device company in December 2009 to focus on the surgical drug delivery business.

GMIT made the future look a lot brighter for almost 100 students from secondary schools in Galway, when they visited the Third Level Institute recently. The students were taking part in the Junior Achievement Ireland Enterprise Challenge project, supported by the GMIT Access office, under The Dormant Accounts (Educational Disadvantage) Fund for the development of access services in Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology.

Especially for Seachtain na Gaeilge, Babógbaby affectionately known as BB brings us his very own BB app for the iphone, ipad and itouch where it has the same function of the actual teddybear.
The BB Irish speaking app teaches toddlers and children 33 words of Irish and while it says the sound it also shows the word. The app has numbers, colours and shapes replicating the actual bear. The BB app costs just .79c and is available in the itunes store under Babóg Baby.

Gaillimh le Gaeilge organise this annual award in association with the Galway Advertiser, to recognise, honour and celebrate all the great bilingual work done in Galway in order to gain Bilingual Status for the city.
