There’s been some further good news on the jobs front this week following the announcement from Acorn Life Group that the company will create a further 125 roles in 2015. Acorn Life Group, whose head office is based in Galway, is Ireland’s only 100 per cent Irish-owned life assurance company.
Galway regional manager Tony Raftery says 2014 was a very successful year for the company with business levels up 50 per cent. He also outlined that the group’s new Galway-based general insurance operation, Acorn Insurance, which was launched in 2013, has seen significant growth in terms of business volumes and consequently staff numbers have also grown significantly. “In the last six months alone we have opened new offices in Sligo and Leopardstown Business Park in Dublin and we are presently recruiting financial advice, admin, actuarial and IT professionals. There are approximately 15 positions to be filled by candidates in the Galway area.”
Specifically the company is seeking applications for personal financial advisors, car and home insurance sales advisors, and customer care advisors, mortgage advisors, trainee actuaries, SQL programmers, commercial insurance development managers, agency development managers, marketing managers, marketing interns, and recruitment consultants.
With January being a time for reflection on people’s future career path, Mr Raftery is well aware that thousands of jobseekers in Ireland are searching for new opportunities. “Many of them will have the range of core competencies needed to carve out a successful career in financial services. Whether someone has already had a successful career in financial services or someone would like to take a new direction, Acorn Life may well have the employment opportunity that’s an exact fit for them. We will provide an all-embracing support system to help people succeed in building a career in financial services.”
