Gardai are requesting information on a number of damage and theft incidents in the county and asking the public to plan ahead for traffic restrictions this week.
Damage was caused to a vehicle parked outside a house at An Moinear, Renmore Road, Galway on Friday July 31 at approximately 4.50am. The windscreen was smashed and all panels on the car were keyed.
Anyone with any information or who may have witnessed any persons or vehicles acting suspiciously in the area are asked to contact Galway Garda Station on 091 538000.
Also on Friday, the owner of a house returned to find that two front windows were smashed between the hours of 1.30am and 10.56am in St Joseph’s Park, Killimor, Galway.

A vehicle was broken into a Shearwater Hotel, Ballinasloe, Galway between 7am and 3.30pm on Wednesday July 29. The lock was drilled to gain entry to the vehicle and a number of Dewalt power tools were taken, all of which were marked “Jimmy”.
The tools included a Tri-pod Work Light 18V; De Walt Work Area Light; 2 x Hand held work Task Lights; Sds Drill 18 V; and a 76Mm Grinder 18V.
Anyone who may have any information as to the whereabouts of these tools marked “Jimmy” or who may have information are asked to contact Ballinasloe Garda Station on 090 9631890 or the Garda confidential line on 1 800 666111.
Meanwhile, at the Maldron Hotel car park in Oranmore, Galway, a different vehicle was broken into between 23.11pm on Wednesday July 29 and 7.43am on Friday July 31. A number of Milwaukee power tools were taken. A silver Audi with false plates is sought in connection with this theft.

Traffic restrictions planned
As Galway United return to their home grounds at Eamonn Deacy Park, Terryland this Friday, August 7 at 7.45pm, there will be traffic restrictions in place. Members of the public are asked to plan their journeys to avoid delays.
On Saturday, August 8, this year’s Galway city pride parade will take place, starting at 12pm at City Hall and finishing at Father Burke Park. Large crowds are expected and Gardai advise the public to plan ahead to avoid traffic delays.
Also on Saturday the 40th edition of the Galway 8k Road Race will begin at 7pm at GTI on Fr Griffin Road, finishing at South Park in the Claddagh. Race HQ is located at the Claddagh Hall at Nimmos Pier. Participants and the public attending the event are asked to plan ahead to avoid traffic delays.
