The National Transport Authority (NTA ) is running a public consultation on proposed changes to the existing 425A bus service between Mountbellew and Galway city. Members of the public are invited to review the proposed amendments to the route and make suggestions until January 9.

Albert Dolan, Fianna Fáil TD for Galway East, has welcomed the consultation on changes to the existing service. He encourages strong community participation, noting that local voices will play a key role in shaping the final outcome.

"The 425A is a vital connection for communities between Mountbellew and Galway. Any proposed changes must reflect the real needs of passengers who rely on this service for work, education, healthcare and daily life. I urge everyone affected to take part in the consultation, and make their views known" he said.

The 425A currently serves Galway city's eastern suburbs, Menlough and Caltra, before terminating in Mountbellew.

"This process is an important opportunity to enhance and strengthen an already essential service. I will continue to work closely with the NTA to ensure that the outcome supports better, more reliable public transport for our region," Dolan added.

The consultation will take place through the NTA's online consultation portal, where full details of the proposed route changes can be viewed, and submissions made. Once the consultation closes on January 9, the NTA will undertake a full analysis of the feedback received.
