Renmore Scout Den will throw open its doors tomorrow, Friday, November 21, from 5.30pm, to celebrate Oíche na hÓige.
Until 8pm, the 13th Galway (Renmore ) Scout Troop will host a special session – open to all – showcasing the energy, creativity, and achievements of its young people and youth work across the local community.
This open evening is part of Oíche na hÓige/Youth Night - a new national event celebrating youth work, youth clubs, and young people, inspired by the 20-year-old success of Culture Night.
Organisers are inviting all ages interested to meet Renmore’s Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Ventures, Rovers and Scouters, to an open evening. Visitors may relive their own scouting memories, or try scouting activities for the first time at interactive stands.
Visit Renmore Den (H91E725 ) next to Renmore Community Centre to see the renovations underway, and recent changes made, while refreshments on the night may include a taste of campfire.
The 13th Galway (Renmore ) Scouts have been serving their community since 1977, and past members might spot themselves in past and present photograph collections.
Oíche na hÓige is a new national celebration supported by the Department of Education and Youth under the Opportunities for Youth strategy, in partnership with local Education and Training Boards, the National Youth Council of Ireland (NYCI ), and the youth work sector.
