Galway United Women will line out at Eamonn Deacy Park for the final time this season when they take on Waterford on Saturday at 5pm.

Phil Trill's side will be eager to end their home season on a high. They currently sit in third place, six points behind Shelbourne. Defeat last weekend away at Wexford leaves them just one point ahead.

United will believe they are the best of the rest outside the current top two. They will want to take care of business in their final two games to cement that third spot. The focus will then shift to bridging that gap in 2026.

The Tribeswomen have a strong platform to build from. They are the second highest scoring team in the division. Recent transfer activity has added strong, experienced options to their youthful squad. Two All-Island Cup titles in three years highlights the winning mentality within the group.

Saturday's opponents reside second from bottom and are winless in the league since their 3-1 victory over rock-bottom Cork City in July. United then travel to DLR Waves for the final fixture of the season. Trill's side have an opportunity to make a statement of intent going into the off-season.

They cannot do it alone. The support of Eamonn Deacy Park can provide that extra spark to an already entertaining and hungry side. Galway United are holding a 'Clubs and Family Day' for the game on Saturday. All tickets are free at www.galwayunitedfc.ie/match-tickets

There is plenty of cause for optimism around Galway United Women right now. A strong finish to the season will only heighten that excitement.
