O’Donnellan & Joyce to host major national property sale this Friday

Galway-based O’Donnellan & Joyce will host one of the largest property auctions of the year this Friday, September 19, when more than 25 lots go under the hammer in a national live-stream event.

The diverse catalogue includes homes, investment properties, and commercial buildings across Ireland, with particular attention on the release of eight former healthcare buildings and three former Garda stations. These well-known properties, spread across Galway, Mayo, Sligo, Leitrim, Donegal, Cavan and beyond, are being offered to the market for new uses after long service in their communities.

For Galway buyers, the auction also includes attractive city and county lots, alongside national opportunities. The mix reflects a growing supply of value-driven options for homebuyers, investors, and developers.

Auctioneer Colm O’Donnellan said: “This auction brings a unique combination of properties to the market, from landmark public buildings with scope for renewal, to family homes and investment opportunities. It’s an exceptional chance for buyers to secure value, whether they’re entering the market, expanding a portfolio, or taking on a redevelopment project.”

The sale of the former Garda stations, in Ballycastle and Glenisland in Co Mayo, and Ballymoe in Co Galway, highlights the broader release of State-owned properties, while the healthcare buildings range from prominent town-centre sites to detached residences with redevelopment potential.

The auction will take place by live stream on Friday, September 19 at 12 noon, with bidding available online or by phone. Pre-registration is required.
