Work under way this morning to repair burst water main

Uisce Éireann crews are repairing a significant burst on a water main between the New Clifton Hill Reservoir and the Tonabrocky Reservoir in Galway city this morning.

At present, this burst should not be affecting water supply to any residential or business customers in the area.

Tony Kelly of Uisce Éireann said crews are on site working to isolate and repair the burst.

“Our crews have arrived on site and are working to repair the burst on the rising main," Mr Kelly said. "We will keep customers updated throughout the morning as the repairs progress.”

"Uisce Éireann is committed to keeping customers informed across multiple platforms 24/7 and we encourage customers to engage with us through our website, X channels @IWCare and @IrishWater, and through our customer care helpline which is open 24/7 on 1800 278 278."
