Opel Ireland has announced a longer-range version of its Mokka Electric.
The new Mokka Electric SC Model will retail from €30,227 inclusive of SEAI grant and VRT rebate. The compact SUV boasts increased range and performance.
With its 115kW (156hp ) electric motor and 54kWh battery, the new Mokka Electric now offers up to 403km (WLTP ) on a full charge, up from 324km on the previous-generation battery.
With a kerb weight of 1,615kg, and thanks to efficient packaging, Opel says its engineers were able to ensure an exemplary range with a compact battery size.
James Brooks, Opel Ireland managing director, said that the brand has "sharpened its contemporary design and added a range of bright new body colours, and a new infotainment system".
"Even with more power and a longer battery range than its predecessor model, we are introducing this improved range model with particularly keen pricing to remove as many barriers as possible for customers embracing electric motoring," added Brooks.
Opel says the space-saving underfloor location of the battery enables a low centre of gravity and ensures that the new Mokka Electric stands confidently on the road. With 260Nm of torque available immediately, the Mokka Electric provides quick acceleration from a standing start and plenty of driving pleasure.
The new Opel Mokka Electric 156hp is now available to test drive at Opel dealerships nationwide. A special order Mokka Electric GSE with a peak output of 207kW (280hp ) and 345Nm of torque, reaching 100km/h in just 5.9 seconds, will receive its world debut in the coming months.
