Galway’s Enda Loughnane to referee Premier Junior Camogie Final at Croke Park

There will be strong Galway representation on the pitch at Croke Park this Sunday—not only in the senior final, but also among the match officials— as Oranmore native Enda Loughnane has been confirmed as referee for the Premier Junior Final in the 2025 Glen Dimplex All-Ireland Camogie Championships.

Mr Loughnane, who represents the Oranmore/Maree club, will take charge of the clash between Laois and Armagh, a highly anticipated curtain-raiser to a packed day of top-tier camogie action in Dublin. His appointment marks a significant personal milestone, reflecting both his skill and dedication to the game.

A respected figure within Galway GAA circles, Enda Loughnane balances his refereeing career with a demanding professional role as Service Delivery Director with Eir Networks. Despite the pressures of a senior corporate position, he has carved out time to serve the sport at its highest level. His favourite venue to officiate in—FBD Semple Stadium in Thurles—reflects his appreciation for tradition and big-game atmospheres, something he will experience once again on the hallowed turf of Croke Park.

The Camogie Association, in announcing this year’s final officials, praised the trio selected for their commitment and excellence. Uachtarán an Chumainn Camógaíochta, Brian Molloy, congratulated Enda Loughnane and his colleagues, saying:

“Refereeing an All-Ireland Final is a huge honour, not only for the officials involved, but for their families, clubs and counties. Congratulations to Enda, Donnacha and Justin for their outstanding contributions to the 2025 Glen Dimplex All-Ireland Camogie Championships to date.”

Donnacha O’Callaghan, from Feohanagh Castlemahon in Limerick, will referee the Intermediate Final between Kerry and Offaly. A waste water caretaker by profession, O’Callaghan names TUS Gaelic Grounds in Limerick as his favourite pitch.

The showpiece Senior Final—featuring defending champions Cork against last year’s runners-up Galway—will be overseen by Justin Heffernan of Blackwater, Wexford. A sales manager, Heffernan relishes the big occasion and lists Croke Park and UPMC Nowlan Park as his favourite venues.

The Camogie Association also extended its gratitude to Evoke, the National Referee Sponsor, for their ongoing support of officials at all levels of the game.
