Renault Austral revamped

The Renault Austral has received a makeover in line with the Rafale that was launched last year.

The cues of Renault's new design language are visible on most of the body features. The bumper features small embossed 3D diamonds scattered around the central logo.

The vehicle styling update extends to other body features also. At the rear, the upper and central sections of the tailgate gain more elegant lines. The two new body colours are Naxos Blue and matte Satin Pearl White.

The Austral has new front and rear lights and half-diamond daytime running lights (DRL ) in the bumper. The headlights feature Adaptive LED Vision technology as standard.

In the interior, there's new front seats and upholstery, along with new apps available via the OpenR Link system with Google built-in. Acoustic insulation has been improved with new door seals, a new design for the rear-view mirror base to reduce wind noise. Under the bonnet, more effective soundproofing and new powertrain mounts have been fitted.

The central console includes an induction charger, two USB-C ports and a 12V socket. Rear passengers have access to two USB-C ports and a 12V socket on the back of the central armrest.

The Renault Austral's engine hasn't received any tweaks, it is still powered by the full hybrid E-Tech 200hp powertrain which comprises a three-cylinder 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine developing 130hp (96 kW ) with 205nm of torque, and two electric motors.
