Galway-based charity, the National Breast Cancer Research Institute, is asking women nationwide to take part in this year’s Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon that takes on Sunday, June 5 in Dublin.

The biggest women's event of its kind in the world, the Women’s Mini Marathon encourages all women to walk, jog or run in support of breast cancer research.

One in seven Irish women will be diagnosed with breast cancer, with some 3,507 cases diagnosed annually. Funds raised by those taking part in the charity’s mini marathon team go directly to support the breast cancer research at the Lambe Institute NUI Galway, lead by Prof Michael Kerin.

To take part in this year’s Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon, fundraising packs are avaiable by calling 091 863 917 or emailing [email protected]
