There will be an Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland (ASI) event hosted jointly by the Community Action on Dementia in Mayo project and Mayo Age Friendly County Programme held on Wednesday, November 5 from 6pm to 8pm in the Foxford Lodge and Studio, Pontoon Road, Foxford. The event aims to raise awareness of people living with dementia in the community. Encourage more programmes/funding to assist families in dealing with dementia in communities locally and nationally. Starting tomorrow Saturday, October 25 and running though to Sunday, October 26 a two day bazaar will be held in St Anne's Boxing Club, James Street Car Park, Westport. Doors will open both days at 10.30am and you’ll be able to find new and newly clothes, books, household goods and furniture. A cake sale will also take place, with new stock each day. All proceeds will help to provide meals for poor children in Moldova this winter.

Gardaí in Mayo are investigating 86 complaints of suspected petrol contamination, received in the past four months, and are now working with Revenue’s Customs Service to have samples analysed in the State Laboratory.
