Rail line out of Mayo closed following Roscommon collision

The rail line in and out of Mayo was closed yesterday evening after a collision between a tractor and train in Roscommon, which left the driver of the tractor dead.

The collision between a freight train from Ballina to North Wall in Dublin occurred at a level crossing in Ballymacfrane, near the village of Donamon in Roscommon, at 9.30am. The scene was closed off by gardaí while rail accident investigators examined the scene.
