Castlebar has been selected as one of 13 towns to be selected for Ireland’s Best Kept Towns Competition 2009. The awards will be presented in St Patrick’s Hall, Dublin Castle, on Monday June 22. The annual Tidy Towns Competition will be judged over the course of the summer months and with the help and support of all it is hoped to improve the overall position. A comprehensive action plan has been agreed with the town council for implementation over the next three years. The next meeting of the Tidy Towns committee will be on Monday June 8 at 8pm on the TF Hotel. All are welcome.

€5 million investment for Dawn meats in Ballyhaunis
