Covid impact on council finances laid out

Pay by phone parking coming to Ballina

As one of the first towns in the county to adopt pay and display parking over 20 years ago, Ballina is to follow in the footsteps of Westport with the introduction of eParking. The introduction of eParking is among a number of proposed changes that will be put out to public consultation, following agreement by the elected members at the May meeting of the council last Friday to adopt new draft parking bylaws.

Further pesticide exceedance detected in Newport area

While there is no threat to public health, it is imperative that users of pesticides are mindful of best practice when spraying their lands. This comes following compliant water samples in the month of April and is disappointing news for people on this water supply.

Local Link Covid effort to feature on TV show

Helping people to stay at home became the new role of Local Link Mayo rural transport services, following the outbreak of coronavirus in Ireland. In response to Covid-19, Local Link Mayo quickly commenced offering a collect and deliver service from pharmacies and local shops for passengers, delivering critical medical supplies and meals to the elderly, the vulnerable and sick within rural areas throughout the county.
