‘Out of control’ man kicked out Garda car window

Two brothers from Dublin were before Castlebar District Court this week following disturbances outside a night venue in the town, where one of the men kicked out a Garda patrol car’s window and the other ripped off his shirt and was aggressive to gardaí.

Removal of Bachelor’s Walk jetty put back for public submissions

Mayo thanked for Haiti help as Trocaire launches Lent campaign

One month after the earthquake hit Haiti and killed 230,000 people, Trocaire’s director Justin Kilcullen has thanked the people of County Mayo who contributed significantly to the €3.5 million the agency has already received in donations to help people there. First service for children living with domestic violence to be launched in Mayo

More action needed to combat human trafficking

Human rights activist and Sinn Féin councillor Thérèse Ruane has welcomed the passing of a European Parliament resolution last week, calling for stronger action across the EU on human trafficking. Cllr Ruane insists that we must remain committed to ending, in particular, the exploitation of women and girls in the sex industry.
