Castlebar ladies

Wednesday November 27 was a nine-hole stroke competition and was won by Marie Rowley with 34.5. Second was Gina Kelly with 36.

The weekend competition was a 13-hole Stableford and the mighty Breta Fitzmaurice got first place with 29pts and Kay Gallery was second with 25pts.

Don't forget, next weekend is the Garda hamper competition and the following Sunday is the children's Christmas party. Hope to see you all there.

Mulranny

Officers elected at AGM: president Nellie de Wilde; captain Mary Devanney; vice captain Helen Walker; secretary Mary Joyce; PRO Maureen Mulloy; treasurer Patsy Mulchrone; handicap secretary Bridie Moran; committee Maureen Noone, Barbara Daly, Margaret Moran, Anne Hyland, Mairin McLoughlin, Patricia McHale, Eileen Delhouise, Maureen McGovern, Geraldine Mulloy.

Tributes were paid to outgoing lady captain Maureen Noone for her captaincy during the past year. Maureen thanked her officers and committee for the support she received and said that it was an honour to represent Mulranny as captain. She wished the incoming captain, Mary Devanney, every success during her term of office.

Next Saturday's competition is the Christmas hamper and a draw will take place at 11am.

Ballyhaunis

Stableford results from November 30, sponsor G&H Machinery. Ladies: first Anne Freelay (13 ) 35pts, second Mariette Potgeiter (18 ) 32 pts, third Norrie Dillon (16 ) 32 pts.

Gents: first John Doyle (7 ) 39 pts, second Shane Freeman (6 ) 38 pts, third Liam Lynskey (15 ) 38 pts.
