Latest batch of monthly awards announced

The Mayo League this week have revealed the winners of their various monthly awards for August and September this week. The club of the month award for August went to Urlar United with the September award going to Partry Athletics. The manager of the month awards went to Michael Moran (Castlebar Celtic B ) for August, and Michael Carroll (Urlar United ) for September.

The divisional player of the month awards saw Brendan Lavelle (Ballina Town ) pick up the Super League, Terry Maughan (Castlebar Celtic B ) Premier A, John Casey (Moy Villa ) Premier B, Martin Conlon (Urlar United ) League One, and Gerry Burke (Conn Rangers B ) League Two for August.

The September awards saw the Super League award stay in Ballina with Michael Duffy winning that award. Sean Curry (Snugboro United ) won the Premier A, Tom Towey (Charlestown Athletic ) the Premier B award. With Partry Athletics, Sean Og Burke won the League One prize and the League Two was awarded to Jason Gilmartin of Moy Villa B.

Westaro Masters League getting ready to roll again for the Winter

The popular Mayo League Masters League will be getting ready to go again soon on the Astroturf in Milebush Park. The league for over 35s is for players born before 1977. Registration will be €5 per player, excluding players who are already registered as junior players by their clubs. There will be an entry fee of €200 per team.

The nominated home team will have to pay the referee a set match fee of €20 per game, and games will be 25 minutes per half. There will also be a cup competition for all teams in the league.
