Big spring clean Athlone campaign kicks off

Athlone Tidy Towns Committee is calling on the local community to help spring clean Athlone in the last week of April.

Athlone Tidy Towns Committee members would like to unite with members of the community in a clean-up operation to rid the streets of unsightly litter. If there is an area which you think would benefit from this clean-up, please email suggestions to [email protected].

Gerry Johnson committee member said: “The Big Spring Clean Athlone 2015 campaign is an effective way of making a positive difference to neighbourhoods and in previous years it has been inspiring to see members of the community join forces to take action on litter that damages our environment.”

The committee believe it is important for everyone to help protect and preserve the environment for future generations.

The Big Spring Clean Athlone campaign is an effective way of making a positive difference to various localities across Athlone.

By volunteering for this campaign, you can take an active role in improving and maintaining your local environment, by making it a cleaner and more enjoyable place to live in.

We all have a responsibility for litter and participating in this spring clean provides an opportunity to get involved with your local community and take action against all the litter that spoils our environment.

Everyone is welcome and absolutely no experience is necessary.

Athlone Tidy Towns Committee will play their part in keeping the town fresh and attractive. They will support this campaign by supplying green rubbish bags and picking up the bags for safe disposal.

Don’t forget to send them pictures of your clean-ups and they will post them on www.athlonetidytown.ie
