Athlone Little Theatre presents John B Keane’s The Chastitute

Opening on Saturday night at Athlone Little Theatre is the wonderfully hilarious comedy The Chastitute, written by the one and only John B Keane. This is a real treat for the audience as it is one of Keane’s best plays and shows the author’s real talent for looking at Irish society and putting his own comic spin on it.

The play tells the story of John Bosco McLaine, a bachelor, and his endeavours to break his duck, so to speak, with the ladies. The setting is John Bosco’s sitting room and various other locations on his quest for love. Joe McCarrick directs a large and stellar cast with Pat Canty taking on the role of John Bosco - watch out for a fantastic performance here.

The cast consists of Anne Blackie, Harry Smith, Benny Irwin, Jude McLynn, Mark Daly, John McGee, Alfie Kilduff , Caroline Coyle, Joan Larkin, Colin Kelly, Margaret Egan, Nicola Ross, Clive Darling, Olive Martin, Martina Breen, and Ernie Draper. Joe has been ably assisted by Paddy Martin as stage manager and Ray Collins as character coach, and the results will be obvious for the audience to see.

So don’t miss out - book now as this show is sure to sell out. All tickets for the Sunday and Monday night performances are being sold at the concession rate of €12. Book now at (090 ) 6474324. Curtain is up at 8.30pm each night from Saturday November 23 to the following Saturday November 30.
