Galway perfumer Cloon Keen Atelier has been selected as the supplier of perfumed soaps, lotions, toiletries, and diffusers to Dublin Castle for the Royal Visit and State Banquet which commenced yesterday.
It is supplying a very special fragrance that it hasbeen developing with their perfumers for the past two years, which will not be available in in their boutique until early June, says Maggie Mangan, creative director of Cloon Keen Atelier.
“All of our perfumers and suppliers worked non-stop in order to have the products available for this very special occasion and we are very grateful to them. This included bespoke bottles and labels to be used solely for this historic event.
“ This project also included a unique collaboration with Waterford Crystal which showcases their Lismore perfume bottles. These are to be used as interior perfume diffusers to fragrance the private suites in Dublin Castle.”
Cloon Keen Atelier, located on 3 Kirwans Lane, is a family run, Galway-based artisan perfume house. Working with visionary perfumers, Cloon Keen creates iconoclastic perfumes to evoke, intrigue and delight. Craftsmanship is at the heart of their perfumes and is evident at all stages of creation. From each initial concept, their perfumes take years to develop.
This slow process involves the selection of luxurious and surprising perfumery ingredients by their master perfumers and then making many painstaking alterations to the formula to create a fragrance as close to their vision as possible.
Finally, like all of its products, the perfumes are mixed and macerated in their Galway atelier by trained craftsmen and then each bottle of perfume is poured, bottled and polished by hand before leaving their studio.
