Lower road tax for more efficient new Suzuki SX4

Suzuki’s urban sport crossover, the SX4 has been given a new look and the 1.5 litre engine has also been upgraded. It also benefits from lower CO2 emissions, lower road tax and lower fuel consumption. Prices start at €17,385 for the GLX hatchback version.

The new 1.5 petrol engine is now 109 bhp, a 10 per cent increase in power and performance; and has emissions of 139g/km making it a Band B car for annual road tax of €156 a year. Suzuki tell us that combined fuel consumption is now lowered to 46 mpg, which represents an 11 per cent increase in fuel efficiency over the previous model.

The SX4 hatchback has a new front bumper and grille as well as new five-spoke, 16-inch alloy wheels. It also gets new front and rear skid plates to help it handle the rigours of outdoor life.

The interior also gets a facelift. There’s a new meter cluster with an integrated digital information display, and control panel for the air conditioning system. And in response to customer demand, Suzuki has provided backlighting for the steering-wheel-mounted audio switches and for the headlamp levelling device for enhanced convenience.

Other new touches of luxury include soft pads on the door armrests, chrome-plated door handles, and a dashboard centre speaker. Safety features include six airbags.
