3 gives Athlone entrepreneurs ‘competitive edge’

Mobile operator hosts lunch briefing for businesses in Athlone

3, Ireland’s fastest growing mobile network, told local entrepreneurs in Athlone that its hi-tech network and better-value pricing structure can give businesses a competitive edge.

Speaking at the Athlone Chamber lunch briefing in the Sheraton Hotel, Athlone last Thursday, 3’s head of business, Damien Gallagher, said a company’s choice of mobile network or broadband provider could have real implications for its bottom line.

“I was delighted to meet local industry leaders here in Athlone and talk to them about adding value to their businesses. 3 has reduced bills for businesses throughout the country and forced rival operators to follow suit. With economic commentators predicting further fiscal challenges, there has never been a better time for local businesses to make savings on their bills,” said Mr Gallagher.

“We will continue to help local businesses cut their company mobile phone and broadband bills, deliver access to a faster mobile broadband network, and drive a new economic competitiveness that boosts revenues and creates local jobs for local people,” he continued.

“Our Business Sharer price plans offer business communities savings of up to 28 per cent compared to other networks. 3 is now the only network offering business price plans to the self-employed and medium sized businesses, providing valuable cost savings, greater flexibility, and superior mobility for businesses on the move.

“Here in Athlone, we have set ourselves ambitious targets for further growth and development in both our business and household customer numbers. Mobile broadband is a particular area of growth within the town where we are continuing to upgrade our service, allowing us to prepare for higher speeds and increased network capacity.

“3 has made great inroads in the Irish mobile market through consistent innovation and the best mobile technologies. We are now the leading provider of mobile broadband services, with 90,000 mobile broadband subscribers nationwide, more than any other operator in the Irish market,” he concluded.

“We were delighted with this event, and are happy to announce a further reduction in prices for Chamber members using 3. In these economic times, reducing your mobile costs is a very attractive proposition and we believe this special arrangement with 3 for businesses shows it pays to be a member of your chamber of commerce,” commented Athlone Chamber president Tim Hayes.
