Spending wisely is the name of the game with the launch of MS Ireland’s Christmas campaign, according to a Westmeath woman who is living with Multiple Sclerosis.
Eileen Paradise from Athlone is urging individuals and businesses to buy the most meaningful gifts this Christmas, thereby helping to support over 7,000 families living with MS.
The ‘Reach For A Star’ Christmas campaign aims to raise over €250,000 for services and resources for families living with MS, a disabling, progressive, neurological condition. This money is desperately needed to continue providing such vital services as counselling, respite, information, education and financial assistance.
The campaign was launched in the MS Care Centre last Saturday September 27 by celebrity chef Kevin Dundon, weather forecaster Evelyn Cusack, and model Roberta Rowatt. The new campaign asks individuals, families, and businesses to ‘Reach For A Star’ with lots of great ways to give a little, or a lot, and spread some festive cheer.
As Eileen explains; “A gift or donation to MS Ireland is the most worthwhile investment individuals and companies will make this year. It will provide us with the opportunity to continue caring for and supporting families living with MS both locally and nationally. So end the recession depression and ‘Reach for a Star’ with Multiple Sclerosis Ireland.”
The ‘Reach For A Star’ Christmas campaign is MS Ireland’s way of ensuring that the financial burdens of the recession do not impact significantly on those with MS.
Members of the public are encouraged to contact MS Ireland for further information on how to encourage their company to buy a Corporate Star; purchase a gift from the Big Gift Brochure; buy or even sell Mini Stars; make a donation; or organise their own Christmas event in aid of MS Ireland.
