The perennially popular Plumbers competition will commence on Monday, May 9, and each Monday thereafter with the exception of Open Weeks for the summer season.

To be eligible to participate in the Plumbers competition, a member must have a course handicap (CH ) of 18 or more on the day of the competition - see charts on notice board for further information.

It will be a 12 holes stableford competition and the 12 holes will be played from the yellow tee boxes. Players may book their tee times on the BRS system and will be required to sign in to the competition beforehand and enter their scores on the computer after their round.

The first tee will be reserved from 5pm-6.30pm and there will also be a Plumbers Singles Matchplay starting in July. The handicap requirement for this will be a CH (Course Handicap ) of 18+.

Player Of the Year

In addition, there will be a ‘Player of the Year’ competition consisting of a player’s best eight returned scoring cards. The ‘Player of the Year’ prize is kindly sponsored by Michael Cuddy & Co.

This is an excellent opportunity for new members and those who have joined in the last few years to play with members of their own standard, meet other club members, forge new friendships and importantly have a very enjoyable and sociable evening. It is highly recommended.

Lotto

Members will shortly be asked to sign up for the Club Lotto which will commence next month. The club needs a minimum of 200 members to sign up in order for it to be successful. The support from the members so far has been very positive and the club looks forward to their continued support.

This Week’s Competition

This week’s competition for the men is the qualifier for the PGA tankard, the winner of which will represent the club with Professional Kevin Grealy during the summer season.

The Wednesday Open Ladies and Gents Stableford competition is now in full swing and time sheets fill up fairly rapidly.

Visitors entry fee is €25 and bookings can be made through the BRS booking system on the club website or by ringing the Pro Shop at 090 6492073.

The Ladies will be competing in the Granard Cup Fourball.
