Laden with one pot culinary choices and music to nourish the soul, Camping Soul Food, is the fruition of the family campervan experience as narrated by the Buggans family.
In the soon to be published cookbook, Athlone native, Malachy Duggan, partner, Carrie Budds and daughter, Easkey (aka the Buggans ), detail life on the road in their beloved campervan (Campie ), affording advice to those who wish to sample such an adventure holiday in the staycation times to come.
Complete with 64 recipes, over 25 hours of soul music and in excess of 40 innovative camping hacks, the origins of Camping Soul Food commenced with a random collection of notes which gradually accumulated to the point where thoughts of publishing a book regarding their experiences came to the fore.
“We’ve put together Camping Soul Food with some easy recipes you can make anywhere — no-cook options, or meals you can cook on one gas ring or barbecue — and we’ve shared some invaluable camping hacks.
“Each recipe is accompanied by a music playlist to listen and dance to while you prep and cook, as well as options for alternative ingredients. We hope you enjoy this ‘recipe and hacks and soulful music’ cookbook as much as we have delighted in putting it together. We can’t wait to get out in the campervan again. Meanwhile, time to stick up a tent in the garden, get out the portable stove burner, and let the imagination run wild,” an enthused Malachy told the Athlone Advertiser this week.
The hardback A5 book, which was designed and photographed in Galway, is available to pre-order from online Indiegogo campaign. You can choose to pre-order the book at a discounted rate, or you can choose one of the packages - from a cookbook and Camping Soul Food frisbee, to a Camping Soul Food barbecue for you and your family (once we can travel around the country again ).
