Southern Gaels make notable on field competitive season hurling progress

A successful competitive season honed to date, Southern Gaels will aspire to achieve further underage hurling success should the club’s U15 league campaign be completed upon the easing of Covid-19 restrictions.

The club are primed to attain a place in the final of this year’s competition with Clonkill providing the final four fixture opposition.

Notable progress has been achieved on the field of play during what has been a condensed competitive season. The club’s intermediate team reached the semi-final of the championship following some sterling performances, while in recent times, the U17 playing squad and management annexed the Division Two title with a dramatic final victory over Clan na Gael.

This achievement followed the U13 Division Three championship win over St Vincents and highlight the progress being made by the club at all underage levels.

The club has a number of dedicated mentors and officials and a plan in place to develop hurling in the area as a premier sport into the future.
