Following the successful playing escapades of the clubs U16 girls playing squad, Athlone U14s achieved county final success in recent times ollowing a merited two point victory over Tyrrellspass.

Played beneath sky blue clad skies, Athlone played into the weather elements in the first half and bearing tenacious spirit were just two points in arrears come the shrill of the interval whistle.

Such a competitive trait was most noticeable in the second half as the girls managed to go into the scoreboard ascendancy and defend diligently when required to do so as the game reached its final stages.

A wholehearted performance and due recognition for the commitment shown by the panel of players during the season!
