The local economy received a boost this week with the opening of a new Corrib Oil Ltd. Texaco service station and food court on the Ballymahon Road in Athlone. The store which opened on Friday last is a welcome addition to the local business community with the creation of twenty jobs.

Customers have an exciting range of fresh food from which to choose such as the award winning Corrib deli which serves breakfast, lunch and homemade dinners. There are snacks and pizza with delicious treats from Corrib bakery, Insomnia coffee and a SPAR grocery convenience store.

The shop opens each morning from 6.30am until 11 pm except on Sundays where opening hours are from 8am-10pm. Customers can sign up for a Corrib Oil rewards programme which offers perks such as your sixth coffee free, seventh sandwich or breakfast roll free, along with special offers on groceries.

This exciting new business complements the existing operation of home heating oil and commercial and farm diesel which will remain on the Coosan Road in Athlone and also their fuel pumps in Blyry Industrial Estate which already employs ten people.

Corrib Oil originated from County Mayo and is fully Irish owned and West of Ireland managed. The first Corrib Oil convenience store and service station opened its doors in Westport in 1991 and now Athlone is its nineteenth store. The company has built integrity, honesty, and loyalty with its customers and is growing from strength, now employing 650 people.

The new store is headed by Padraic Flatley who has been living in Curraghboy, Athlone, since 2003. Padraic has a wealth of retail experience and was previously Assistant Manager in Corrib Oil Ballinasloe, while the deli operation is under the remit of Robert Pliszka who is also an Athlone resident and has extensive catering experience.

Make it your business to call to the new Corrib Oil Texaco Service station today and experience great food, friendly service and great value. For more details call Padraic on 0906403640.
