Amazing week ahead at The Snug Bar

There’s a packed week at The Snug Bar with great live performances on the stage and on the big screen!

Drop in on Wednesday, July 15 and you’ll catch Gough and Gramps from 9.30pm.

On Thursday, July 16, The Retronauts will get you in the weekend mood with their blast from the past with a modern twist! This Dublin band perform a quirky mix of funk, disco, rock and reggae hits from the 60s, 70s, 80s and today. Their influences stem from artists as diverse as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac, Aretha Franklin to Chic, Prince and Diana Ross.

On Friday, July 17, drums and guitar duo Toxic Twins take to the stage from 9.30pm. This rock/pop covers band from Dublin is likely to satisfy even the most demanding music enthusiasts with their wide repertoire of songs from acts such as The Police, Temper Trap, Lumineers, The Knack, Undertones, Talking Heads, U2, Bob Marley, Kings of Leon, David Bowie, Michael Jackson, The Killers, Blondie and many more.

Make a date on Saturday to watch the Cork v Kerry replay and stay on to hear Acoustic 2, an acoustic cover band playing a wide range of songs to suit all musical tastes from the old classics to the current chart toppers. DJ J Dawg will be setting the mood in the beer garden.

Snug Sunday sees the screening of the Monaghan v Donegal match at 2pm, followed by Mayo v Sligo at 4pm. Crooked Jacks, a well-established  ballad/folk group from the Midlands who have played in top venues in London, New York, and Amsterdam to name but a few will take to the stage at 7pm.

Their influences are The Dubliners, Dublin City Ramblers, The Pogues, Mumford and sons, and The Clancys. The Crooked Jacks always deliver a very upbeat and varied performance that never fails to delight the crowd.

They are followed by Amazing Apples at 9pm. This famous five-piece multi-instrumentalist folk/rock band from Galway have just released their debut album A Little Sense. The album was recorded in Grouse Lodge with renowned Irish music producer Joe Chester (The Coronas, Ryan Sheridan ).

It  was mastered in Sterling Sound (USA ) by Greg Calbi (The National, Bruce Springsteen, Paul Simon ). A Little Sense is an album brimming with inventive, thought-provoking music. Amazing Apples have established themselves as one of the hardest working acts on the Irish live music circuit, playing with Damien Dempsey, Ryan Sheridan, Mundy, Walking on Cars and Little Green Cars over the last 12 months. All in all, a brilliant night at The Snug Bar
