Funding for repair of local roads a welcome development — Burke

Longford/Westmeath Fine Gael TD, Deputy Peter Burke has welcomed the allocation of €334,000 in funding to assist the repair of regional and local roads in Westmeath.

Closure of YAP service to have impact on young people and families

Roscommon/Galway Fianna Fáil TD, Eugene Murphy, has highlighted the impending closure of Youth Advocate Programmes (YAP) Ireland's service in his constituency and the detrimental impact that this will have on young people and families in the area.

Deputy Murphy has expressed concern in relation to the decision taken by Tusla to terminate their service level agreement with YAP Ireland to no longer fund its relevant services from December 2018. This decision was taken following an internal review carried out by the Galway Area Management Team.

Athlone entrepreneur, Simon Ruddy, whose company, Diluteze, originated from a self desire to create a suite of environmentally aware products, has been selected to represent Ireland at the Global Climate LaunchPad awards in Edinburgh next weekend.

Founded in early 2018, Diluteze is developing products which will reduce the environmental impact of chemicals used in horticulture, facilities management, agriculture, industry and consumer markets.
