Leading SF TD to speak in Galway on the Treaty
Pearse Doherty, one of the leading Sinn Féin TDs, will be in Galway on Monday to address a public meeting on the Fiscal Compact Treaty.
The meeting will take place in the Menlo Park Hotel at 7.30pm and will also be addressed by Galway Sinn Féin senator Trevor Ó Clochartaigh.
“The Austerity Treaty will force this Government and many governments for years to come to follow a policy of austerity,” said Sen Ó Clochartaigh. “Austerity doesn’t work. The thousands of young people from the west of Ireland leaving for Canada and Australia is painful proof of this. The treaty will hinder investment and job creation.”
The meeting will also discuss the need to build sustainable rural communities that can deliver on employment for our young people.
